LayarHijau – The death of Chinese actor Yu Menglong, who fell from a building, continues to capture public attention, with swirling theories and little verifiable information. One major point of focus has now turned to the whereabouts of his mother.

On September 24, one of Yu Menglong’s close friends was seen in Xinjiang, reportedly accompanying Yu’s mother as she brought his ashes back to their hometown. Many netizens left condolence messages, writing, “Urumqi, his hometown, he’s home.”

Two days later, on September 26, another friend of Yu Menglong, Li Xiaolan, posted on Weibo: “9.24 Rain, the rest of the day sunny,” along with several photos of the Hongguangshan Grand Buddha Temple in Urumqi. Although Yu was not mentioned directly, the post was widely interpreted as a symbolic return of Yu Menglong’s ashes to his birthplace for eternal rest.

At the same time, rumors circulated that Yu’s mother had signed a letter of apology and even briefly “disappeared,” but these claims have not been officially confirmed.

The case has drawn attention not only in China but also internationally. Thousands of netizens continue to flood social media with messages of grief and calls for the truth. International outlets such as the BBC have also covered the case. More than 150,000 people have now signed a petition on the AVAAZ website, urging the police to formally open a case and release the details. The growing public pressure highlights the wide-reaching impact of Yu Menglong’s tragic death.
