LayarHijau – Actress Zhao Lusi has once again become the center of attention as her conflict with agency Yinhe Kuyu Entertainment continues to escalate. Her latest drama with actor William Chan, Love’s Ambition (许我耀眼), has already garnered over 4 million pre-release reservations and was originally scheduled to air soon. However, the release is now stalled due to disputes between Zhao Lusi and her agency.

According to a report by Upmedia, the agency allegedly delayed the broadcast of Love’s Ambition out of concern that Zhao Lusi’s rising popularity would become uncontrollable. This is not the first time her projects have been obstructed. Previously, her reality show Be Myself (小小的勇气) was also withheld from airing for similar reasons, sparking anger among fans who criticized the agency for being heartless.

Zhao Lusi’s situation became even more concerning last year during the filming of the drama Almost Lover (恋人), which was forced to halt after she fell ill and was rushed to the hospital. She was later diagnosed with anxiety and depression. Zhao revealed that the condition was the result of long-term pressure from her agency. She even claimed that at one point she was locked in a hotel under the pretense of “exorcism” and was asked to compensate the production team of Almost Lover for losses. “All of this was completely different from what was initially agreed upon,” she said, highlighting the complete breakdown of her relationship with the company.

The conflict has severely impacted her career. Zhao disclosed that her contract will not expire until 2030, but the agency has already disbanded her studio team, leaving her to fight on alone. What was supposed to be a turning point in her career with Love’s Ambition has now been derailed. She was even blocked from appearing in a brand livestream event, with the agency and the brand citing “schedule conflicts.” Zhao only found out about the cancellation through online news. “They deliberately tried to shift the blame onto me,” she complained. Fortunately, another livestream on September 20 went ahead as planned, though she was seen breaking down in tears after finishing the broadcast.

In another livestream, Zhao spoke candidly about her current situation, telling fans: “Everything is arranged by heaven. As long as we keep a sincere and kind heart, no matter which direction life takes, it will bring fortune. Just being able to sit here right now is already a blessing. There’s no obstacle that can’t be overcome.” Her words moved fans, who continued to cheer her on with unwavering support.

As for Love’s Ambition, it was initially scheduled for a summer release but has been repeatedly postponed with no new updates. Reports suggest that the agency refuses to allow Zhao Lusi to take part in promotional activities until the dispute is resolved. With China’s National Day period reserved for more “mainstream” dramas, the chances of Love’s Ambition airing anytime soon look slim. Fans have expressed deep disappointment over the uncertain fate of the highly anticipated series.
