LayarHijau – Chinese actor Yu Menglong was reported dead after falling from a building in Beijing on September 11, at the age of 37. Authorities only issued a brief statement ruling out the possibility of a criminal case, without providing further details. The lack of official information has fueled widespread speculation and theories among the public.
Since the news broke, various posts on social media have claimed to possess recordings and a “timeline” of Yu Menglong’s final moments. Some wild claims even mentioned a red USB drive that allegedly became the reason for his interrogation before his death. Another video circulating online shows a man being carried by several people, with a voice heard saying, “I’m afraid of heights, let me go back.” Many netizens believe this to be Yu’s final plea.
Other unverified reports suggest there was also an audio recording of Yu shouting, “Even if you kill me, I will not surrender,” while still conscious. Some claims further allege that his body sustained head injuries and possible abdominal wounds, before being staged to look like a suicide and pushed down again from a height.
Speculation intensified because Yu had reportedly been seen with bruises on his forehead since August. His last public appearance was noted on August 29, after which he was said to have been under close watch in a residential compound in Beijing. Some accounts claimed he was later moved to a villa between September 8 and 9, where he was forced to drink alcohol and subjected to mistreatment.
Initial reports suggested that paparazzi witnessed a figure falling from a building in the early hours of September 10. However, Yu’s body was not officially reported as found until around 5:00 AM on September 11, with the official obituary released just an hour later. Amid the confusion, rumors even implicated figures from the entertainment industry, though related content was quickly removed from Chinese social media.
Beijing police reiterated that “a criminal case has been ruled out,” without further explanation. Yu’s mother stated that her son fell accidentally while intoxicated. Still, public skepticism remains strong, with netizens flooding CCTV’s livestream demanding a transparent investigation. To date, none of the circulated videos, audio recordings, or timelines have been verified, leaving the truth behind Yu Menglong’s death an open question.
