LayarHijau.com — Recently, rumors surfaced on Chinese social media claiming that actor and singer Liu Yuning would play the male lead, Jing Xuan, in the live-action adaptation of the popular animated series and manhua The Island of Siliang (original title: 《眷思量》). The news quickly sparked excitement and heated discussion among fans, as the series has a devoted following.

However, on June 14, 2025, Liu Yuning swiftly addressed the rumors through his official Weibo account. “I’ve never even received the script. Haha,” he wrote, sharing a Polaroid photo of himself in Italy, where he is currently filming a variety show.

His quick response drew amused reactions from fans. Many praised how fast he clarified the rumor, joking that he was “sitting on a router”—a popular Chinese internet phrase used to describe someone who responds to rumors with lightning speed, as if directly connected to the source of information.

The live-action adaptation is highly anticipated, as The Island of Siliang is a Chinese donghua that blends fantasy, mythology, and emotional drama. Set on a mysterious island called Siliang, the story follows immortals who have been exiled after violating heavenly laws. Stripped of their powers, they are condemned to live on the island and cannot return to the heavens until they atone for their past sins.

The donghua is praised for its high-quality 3D animation and intricate world-building. It stands out for its mature themes of redemption, fate, and the longing for a second chance. Visually stunning and emotionally resonant, the series has become a standout in the Chinese animation landscape.

As of now, no official casting announcements have been made for the live-action version of The Island of Siliang. But with Liu Yuning’s prompt clarification and the public’s growing interest, fans will no doubt be keeping a close eye on future developments.
