LayarHijau.com — The Chinese drama Legend of Zang Hai has finally aired its suspenseful and twist-filled finale. After a ten-year wait, the main character Zang Hai, played by Xiao Zhan, successfully avenged the massacre of his family. However, his victory also deepened his understanding of the darkness within human nature. He ultimately chose to resign from his post in the capital of Dayong and live a peaceful life in seclusion with his beloved, the Second Princess of the Winter and Summer Kingdom, Xiang An Tu (Zhang Jingyi), in a distant land, far from power struggles.
Everything seems calm on the surface, but according to Upmedia, an undercurrent of tension still lingers. Viewers can sense that an even greater storm may be brewing.
Before leaving the capital, Zang Hai entrusted all his savings to his two loyal confidants, Guan Feng (Song Yuanfu) and Shi Lei (Yang Boxiao), along with a letter detailing a mysterious mission. Although the director did not reveal the contents of the letter, many viewers speculated that the mission involves reviving Zhenlou—a charitable organization once run by Xiang An Tu—to help the poor. Others believe this is part of a longer-term secret plan orchestrated by Zang Hai himself.
Zang Hai also took with him a magical object called Gui Xi, which turned out to be a poisonous device that manipulates people’s vision to make them see ghost soldiers. Though he is aware of its danger, many of Gui Xi’s secrets remain unsolved. He intends to destroy it after uncovering its full mysteries. However, since many people now know that Gui Xi is in his possession, there’s growing concern that Zang Hai and Xiang An Tu may not truly be safe in exile.
The finale also highlights several other intriguing characters. Zhuang Zhixing (played by Zhou Qi) worked with Zang Hai and Xiang An Tu to defeat the main villain Zhao Bingwen (Tian Xiaojie). He succeeded in inheriting the title of Pingjin Hou, fulfilling his father’s lifelong dream of restoring the Zhuang family’s former glory. However, his ambitions appear to extend far beyond that. Meanwhile, the rise of the new and ambitious Queen of the Winter and Summer Kingdom, as well as the newly crowned and suspicious Emperor of Dayong, suggests that the power struggle is far from over.
The drama ends with Zang Hai and Xiang An Tu walking hand in hand, leaving all the chaos behind. While their story appears to conclude for now, numerous unresolved plot threads hint that Legend of Zang Hai might not be truly over. Fans have already begun to speculate: could there be a season 2?
