Galaxy Cool Entertainment Addresses Bankruptcy Rumors as Investors Pull Out

LayarHijau – Rumors claiming that Galaxy Cool Entertainment was on the brink of bankruptcy stirred heated discussion on November 14. In response, the company issued an official statement asserting that all business operations remain stable and orderly. It described the recent changes in shareholder structure as normal business activity and vowed to pursue legal action against those spreading false or malicious information.

Attention then shifted to Tianyancha data showing that several investors had exited the company’s shareholder list. Shanghai Yunfeng Xincheng Investment Center (Limited Partnership) and Beijing Chuangshi Xinhe Technology Co., Ltd.—both previously holding more than 12 percent—were among the first to withdraw. Three smaller investors from Gongqingcheng, namely Mingguan Yangliu, Mingguan Palm, and Mingguan Songbai, also pulled out despite holding only minor shares of under two percent.

With these departures, Galaxy Cool Entertainment is now backed by only three remaining shareholders. Wu Xiaozhen continues to serve as the company’s legal representative, while one of the remaining shareholders, Beijing Dayu Happy Culture Media Co., Ltd., is fully owned by Orca Cultural Entertainment—an entity formerly under the Alibaba Cultural Entertainment umbrella. Several of the investors who withdrew were known to have ties to investment networks connected to Alibaba Group.

The company’s internal shifts come at a time when public attention remains fixed on the escalating contract dispute between Zhao Lusi and Galaxy Cool Entertainment, which erupted in August. In a personal statement on Weibo, Zhao Lusi revealed that her contract extension still had four years left. She claimed that despite canceling work commitments and endorsements due to health reasons, she ended up paying the resulting penalties herself—including the withdrawal of 2.05 million yuan from her studio’s account without consent. She also mentioned that her studio’s financial staff had been pressured into signing revenue-related documents and expressed concern that she could be held liable for additional compensation. According to her, the company also refused to return operational control of her studio, causing many staff members to resign.

Galaxy Cool Entertainment responded on August 3, stating it was “shocked” by Zhao Lusi’s accusations. The agency insisted it had always fulfilled its legal and contractual responsibilities, maintained clear communication, and worked to reduce the negative impact of the situation. It also urged Zhao Lusi not to post statements that could create public misunderstandings.

The controversy continued to grow, especially as rumors of bankruptcy and the withdrawal of major investors began circulating at the same time. These overlapping developments have placed Galaxy Cool Entertainment under intense industry scrutiny, raising questions about the company’s future direction.

A new development connected to the contract dispute emerged on November 8, when Zhao Lusi Studio announced the actress’s “new beginning” through a lengthy statement on Weibo. Soon after, netizens noticed that the label “Galaxy Cool Entertainment (银河酷娱)” had been removed from the studio’s profile. On Weibo, such labels indicate affiliation with an MCN, meaning the removal signaled that Zhao Lusi is no longer under Galaxy Cool Entertainment’s management. The studio did not disclose whether she has joined a new agency, though rumors of potential partnerships with major companies have surfaced—none of which have been officially confirmed.
