LayarHijau.com – Chinese actress Zhang Jingyi recently appeared on the 216th episode of the interactive variety show Star Colleagues on Sohu Video, aired May 28, 2025. In this interview, Zhang Jingyi enthusiastically shared behind-the-scenes stories from the hit drama Legend of Zang Hai, including her exciting experience acting opposite Xiao Zhan.

Zhang Jingyi revealed that her character Xiang Antu (Princess Tutu) was crafted with many detailed touches to make her feel alive. “She has accessories like step-shaking (traditional swinging hair ornaments) and an abacus to give her a more dynamic look,” she explained. She also talked about the meticulous direction by Zheng Xiaolong, especially during her first scene opening a door, which made her a bit nervous at first.

One of Zhang’s favorite scenes was when Xiang Antu and Zang Hai exchanged hidden meanings while testing each other. “They spoke with double meanings, observing each other but not revealing their intentions. It was really refreshing to play,” she said. If she had to choose a theme song for their relationship, she picked spy-style music like 007 or Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

About her co-star, Zhang Jingyi praised Xiao Zhan’s professionalism. “I really think he is very serious. He prepares his scenes thoroughly, often talks with the director, and constantly thinks about how to portray his character,” she shared. She also responded playfully to fans who called her “mommy,” laughing, “Anyone would be surprised if suddenly called mom, right?”

Interestingly, Zhang Jingyi expressed interest in collaborating with Xiao Zhan again, especially in a modern revenge drama. “I’m curious about playing a returning rich girl facing off against a domineering CEO,” she teased about her dream future project.

Legend of Zang Hai continues to captivate audiences with its stunning visuals and intense storyline. Fans are eagerly hoping for more projects featuring the duo Zhang Jingyi and Xiao Zhan.
