LayarHijau – Actor Yang Yang has steadily rebuilt his reputation following the massive success of his recent drama The Immortal Ascension (凡人修仙傳). Not long ago, he faced sharp criticism for his performance in Fireworks of My Heart (我的人間煙火). Now, anticipation is growing for his upcoming collaboration with Zhang Ruonan, Zhan Zhao Adventures (雨霖鈴), which has quickly become one of the most talked-about Chinese dramas among fans.

Since its release, the trailer for Zhan Zhao Adventures has surpassed 11.2 million views, signaling strong early interest. Recent reports from mainland China suggest that the drama is likely to premiere in the first quarter of 2026, possibly shortly after the Lunar New Year holiday. The production team has also unveiled new action clips featuring striking fight choreography from both Yang Yang and Zhang Ruonan.

In the newly released action preview, Yang Yang, who plays the legendary Zhan Zhao, appears commanding in traditional martial attire with a high ponytail. He demonstrates agile swordsmanship, taking on dozens of opponents at once with fluid precision and intensity. Equally eye-catching is Zhang Ruonan’s transformation. Previously known for her gentle and elegant role in The First Frost, she steps into the role of a female warrior, Huo Linglong. Her determined gaze and dynamic movements — from mid-air sword swings to swift evasive spins — highlight a more powerful and fierce side of the actress. Supporting actor Fang Yilun, portraying Bai Yutang, also delivers smooth and captivating martial arts sequences.

Zhan Zhao Adventures is adapted from the novel of the same name by minifish. The story centers on southern swordsman Zhan Zhao (Yang Yang), who is tasked with securing crucial evidence against Prince Xiangyang’s crimes. Constantly pursued during his mission, he eventually crosses paths with Huo Linglong (Zhang Ruonan), the daughter of Linglong Villa, and the upright young hero Bai Yutang (Fang Yilun). The trio forms a strong alliance, working together to solve major cases, dismantle Prince Xiangyang’s criminal network, restore order to the martial world, and ultimately bring peace back to the people.

Amid the growing speculation about the drama’s release schedule, Yang Yang has also gone viral on social media for a striking new photo series in which he appears as a blue-eyed vampire. Dressed in a luxurious black shirt adorned with red beading, he exudes a mysterious and slightly sinister aura rarely seen in his previous roles. His calm expression and luminous complexion under dim lighting have sparked discussions among fans, many of whom are now hoping to see him take on a fantasy role in the future — whether as a vampire or even a demon king — as they believe the look suits him remarkably well.
