LayarHijau – Short drama actress Yu Yin has finally spoken up regarding public accusations that she copied fellow actress Bai Lu’s fashion style. She firmly denied the claims during a live broadcast on social media.
Yu Yin stated, “Who did I copy? I did not imitate anyone else.” She explained that the ‘wardrobe clash’ incident occurred because all costumes were uniformly set by the drama production crew.
She admitted that she had no power to choose or reject the assigned outfits. Rejecting costumes could lead to accusations of being an actress who “acts like a diva” or “causes trouble.”
Yu Yin’s response quickly went viral, triggering discussions about the boundaries and the right to speak for rising newcomers in the entertainment industry. The controversy even became a viral hashtag on Weibo on Wednesday, February 11th.

Interestingly, a large number of Bai Lu’s fans did not react negatively toward Yu Yin. They instead used the hashtag’s momentum to promote Bai Lu and Wang Xingyue’s ongoing drama, Unveil: Jadewind.
Comments from Bai Lu’s fans indicated that they were unfamiliar with Yu Yin. One comment read, “Don’t know her, unfamiliar, just focusing on Bai Lu.”
This situation also dragged in the name of renowned producer Yu Zheng. Yu Yin previously starred in the drama Glory as Rong Yu Wan, the younger sister of the main character Rong Shanbao. The character Rong Shanbao in the drama was played by actress Guli Nazha. Glory itself was produced by Yu Zheng, who is also the owner of Huanyu Entertainment.
Huanyu Entertainment is known to manage famous stars like Bai Lu, Wang Xingyue, and Wu Jinyan. This sparked suspicion among netizens that Yu Zheng deliberately used Bai Lu to boost Yu Yin’s popularity.
