LayarHijau — Zhao Lusi, whose popularity soared after starring in hit dramas Love Like the Galaxy (星漢燦爛) with Wu Lei and Hidden Love (偷偷藏不住) with Chen Zheyuan, is reportedly ready to return to the screen with a highly anticipated new colossal project. Last year, her modern drama Love’s Ambition (許我耀眼) also successfully topped the ratings.
Recent rumors suggest that Zhao Lusi will star opposite Song Weilong, an actor who also achieved great popularity after starring in Shine on Me (驕陽似我) last year. Both are rumored to be collaborating on a colossal fantasy drama titled Inverted Fate (攻玉).
This drama is drawing attention not only because of its two main stars but also because of the announced lineup of supporting actors. Rising star Daddi Tang Xiaotian, who recently garnered attention as the antagonist Prince Duan in How Dare You!? (成何體統), is rumored to be the male supporting actor. Daddi Tang has previously acted with Zhao Lusi in The Story of Pearl Girl (珠簾玉幕) and Love’s Ambition (許我耀眼), making Inverted Fate their third reunion.
In addition to Daddi, other supporting actors rumored to join Inverted Fate (攻玉) include Tan Kai (known as the antagonist in Sword and Beloved (天地劍心)), Jia Nai (who starred in In the Name of Blossom (锦绣芳华)), Li Jiulin (from Who Rules the World (且試天下)), and Shen Yue, known for Meteor Garden (流星花園) and her cameo in Love Pavillion (淮水竹亭).
Inverted Fate (攻玉) is reportedly directed by Zhu Ruibin, who is famous for successfully helming major fantasy dramas such as Ashes of Love (香蜜沈沈燼如霜) and The Starry Love (星落凝成糖). His latest works, Fated Hearts (一笑隨歌) and Moonlight Mystique (白月梵星), also received good ratings.
Zhao Lusi’s return to the set marks the end of her relatively long hiatus. Late last year, while filming the drama Almost Lover (戀人) with Peng Guanying, Zhao Lusi became ill and was rushed to the hospital. She was later diagnosed with aphasia, anxiety, and depression, triggered by high work pressure. Although she returned to work a month after her illness, she chose to take a full year of rest. During her recovery, Zhao Lusi left her former agency and established a new studio, preparing to return to the entertainment industry this year.
Inverted Fate (攻玉) is adapted from the novel of the same name by Ning Shan. The story centers on Teng Yuyi, a general’s daughter who is killed by a villain. She finds herself transported back to a year before her murder and unexpectedly obtains the divine sword ‘Xiaoyajian,’ which can eradicate demons. In her quest for the truth, she meets Prince Lin Chengyou. Although initially hostile, the two eventually work together to defeat demons and monsters.
It is important to note that as of the release of this news, the production team and relevant agencies of both Zhao Lusi and Song Weilong have not issued official confirmation regarding this colossal project Inverted Fate (攻玉); thus, this information remains rumor status.
