LayarHijau– Chinese actor Cheng Yi has become the victim of a serious stalking and harassment case that not only endangers him but also his family. In an official statement released on January 14, Cheng Yi Studio revealed that the actor has been subjected to long-term harassment that has escalated into property damage and direct safety threats.
Cheng Yi rose to fame through the hit drama Love and Redemption, followed by several high-profile projects. However, his popularity has also attracted extreme and dangerous behavior from an obsessive individual. According to the studio, the person involved illegally obtained Cheng Yi’s private schedule and repeatedly followed, blocked, and intruded into his personal life.
The statement also detailed a particularly alarming incident on the road, where the stalker allegedly chased Cheng Yi’s vehicle and attempted to force it to stop, creating a situation that posed a real threat to personal safety.
The most shocking act occurred at around 6:40 a.m., when the individual reportedly broke into the parking area designated for Cheng Yi’s vehicle. The perpetrator sprayed large amounts of red paint across the car and wrote extremely malicious and hateful messages on it.
After discovering the damage, the studio immediately reported the incident to the police and preserved all relevant evidence. However, even after being taken in for investigation, the individual allegedly remained emotionally unstable and openly provocative. According to the studio, the person shouted arrogantly at the police station, saying, “If you have the guts, go ahead and sue me,” showing complete disregard for the law.
The harassment did not stop there. Cheng Yi Studio also revealed that its official email inbox has been flooded with threatening messages sent by the same individual, containing personal threats and severe verbal attacks against the actor. The studio described these actions as psychological intimidation.
The studio emphasized that the behavior has gone far beyond simple stalking, evolving into acts of vandalism and credible threats of violence. Such unpredictable behavior, they stated, poses a serious risk to personal safety and has placed immense pressure on Cheng Yi, his family, and his working team.
At present, the studio has requested law enforcement to take necessary preventive measures to avoid further escalation. They also stressed that they will firmly pursue legal action to protect the actor’s lawful rights and safety.
The case has sparked widespread public reaction, with many fans expressing outrage and support. Numerous comments condemned the perpetrator’s actions, emphasizing that such behavior has nothing to do with genuine fandom. “This is a crime, not supporting an idol,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Stalkers are not fans.”
Cheng Yi is also known for his roles in popular dramas such as Immortal Samsara and his latest historical project The Vendetta of An. The studio concluded its statement by urging the public to support artists rationally and to respect the boundaries of their private lives.
