LayarHijau – F4 has once again become the center of attention following rumors about changes in the group’s lineup. Reports claimed that Ken Chu would not be invited to the reunion, sparking speculation that F4 was effectively becoming F3. However, Angie Chai, the creator of the Taiwanese version of Meteor Garden, attended a recent event and emphasized that these rumors are highly inaccurate and disrespectful to the original manga.
The 2025 TAFAD GALA, organized by the Taiwan Fashion Designers Association, took place at the Yuanshan Hotel. Regarding the F4 controversy, Angie Chai said, “F4 is a set of characters from a drama, not a real music group. A real group should share a common purpose. Now, just because Ken Chu isn’t invited, people say he’s ‘out of the group’—that’s absurd. Missing one event doesn’t mean F4 becomes F3. This is very disrespectful to the original manga.”
Chai added, “I’ve known Ken Chu since 2001, and for 25 years I’ve understood his character. He can be impulsive and less aware of social etiquette. If he agrees to participate but then announces it beforehand on live streaming, it also shows a lack of respect for others.”
The reunion concert controversy started when plans for an F4 tour celebrating their 25th anniversary were announced. Reports suggested that promotions for the tour would proceed without Ken Chu, while organizers and management offered no public explanation.
Ken Chu’s absence fueled widespread speculation that F4 had become F3. Media outlets and fans highlighted the lack of clear information, while Ken Chu himself confirmed in interviews and live streams that he had never received an official invitation and denied any claims regarding health issues or internal conflicts.
Previously, all four members of F4 appeared together in a surprise performance at a Mayday concert at Taipei Dome, triggering massive nostalgia. However, when the reunion tour was later planned with only three members, rumors and sensational reports intensified, sparking debates about F4’s status as a group.
When asked about the possibility of a full F4 reunion, Angie Chai responded diplomatically: “I actually don’t have plans for that. We know each other because of the drama and share many wonderful memories. If they want to work together again, it wouldn’t be about money—it’s just that they no longer share a common purpose.”
Angie Chai has long been recognized as a key figure behind F4’s success, serving as both producer and creator of Meteor Garden, which introduced F4 to audiences across Asia.
