LayarHijau – The 38th China Golden Rooster Awards is a film award presented by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Film Association. The festival was held from November 11–15, 2025, at the Minnan Theater in Xiamen. Fujian Provincial Deputy Secretary and Governor Zhao Long attended the opening ceremony and officially declared the festival open. Actors Chen Feiyu and Victoria Song served as the Golden Rooster Xiamen ambassadors, while Lan Yu, Deng Chao, Alec Su, and Ni Ni hosted the awards ceremony.
On June 6, 2025, the China Film Association issued the notice for submissions to the 38th China Golden Rooster Awards. Eligible films were those that received a public screening license between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. On September 26, the press conference for the Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival announced the list of nominees and the main visual poster. Best Feature Film nominees included Big World, The Lychee Road, and Detective Chinatown 1900. Best Foreign Language Film nominees covered five films from five countries, including F1: Full Throttle and Where the Heart Rests. Best Director nominations included Dong Chengpeng, Chen Sicheng, and others. Jackson Yee received his fourth nomination for Best Actor, competing with Zhu Yilong, while Best Actress nominees included Song Jia and Charlene Choi.

The main visual poster carried the concept “Golden Rooster Heralds the Dawn, Celebrating a Bright Future for Chinese Cinema”, while the festival poster highlighted the core image “Feathers of Light”.
During the festival, more than 50 events were held across eight categories, including the opening ceremony, Golden Rooster film exhibition, and awards ceremony. A special panel commemorated the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema. This year, a new unit, the “VR Movie Season,” launched on November 12. The final results were announced at the awards ceremony on November 15, featuring eight film awards and twelve individual awards, with 212 films in contention.
Ultimately, Her Story won Best Feature Film. Chen Sicheng and Dai Mo received Best Director for Detective Chinatown 1900. Jackson Yee took Best Actor for his role as Liu Chunhe in Big World, while Song Jia won Best Actress for her performance in Her Story.
