This means that even after his passing, the financial account linked to the charity foundation continued to automatically distribute donations according to the schedule he had set. This is what Chinese media referred to as “an account under Yu Menglong’s name”—a financial donation account or charity-linked account, not a social media profile or contributions made by fans.
Yu Menglong’s death itself remains shrouded in suspicion. Chinese police quickly closed the case as an “accidental fall caused by intoxication.” This decision sparked widespread public skepticism and conspiracy theories. In response, netizens launched a petition on the global non-governmental organization AVAAZ titled “Justice for Yu Menglong.” To date, more than 180,000 people have signed the petition, reflecting the immense global attention this case has drawn.
