LayarHijau.com — A popular Chinese internet personality, Yan Yan Jiang (妍妍醬), is now under the spotlight following serious allegations of repeated involvement with controlled substances.
Allegations of Substance Use
Yan Yan Jiang, known for her striking looks and massive following on Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok), is suspected of being a frequent user of various substances. Reports from World Journal claim she has used nitrous oxide, cannabis, and even amphetamines. It is also alleged that she often rented presidential suites in hotels to host private gatherings involving the use of these substances.
A video allegedly showing her being detained by the police in 2022 for inhaling nitrous oxide has resurfaced online. She was reportedly apprehended at the age of 16 and displayed what police described as an uncooperative attitude.
Controversial Background Claims
Before rising to fame online, Yan Yan Jiang is said to have had a troubled past. She reportedly dropped out of junior high school and frequently visited nightclubs. At around age 15, she was allegedly taken overseas—specifically to Cambodia and Myanmar—by a man described as a “big brother” figure.
While abroad, she was reportedly involved in the entertainment nightlife industry, including working as a companion in KTV establishments. There are also claims suggesting involvement in questionable activities. Upon returning to China, she transitioned into becoming a livestream personality and quickly gained popularity due to her attractive appearance and sweet persona.
Public Backlash Over Image Collapse
Following the spread of these revelations, many internet users expressed disappointment and disapproval. The phrase “persona collapse” (人設崩塌) began trending on social media. Many netizens condemned her alleged behavior and called for zero tolerance toward substance abuse, especially from public figures with a large influence. Some fans also declared they would unfollow her accounts.
As of now, there has been no official response from Yan Yan Jiang or her representatives regarding the allegations.
