LayarHijau.com – On the evening of June 14, the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival officially opened at the Shanghai Grand Theater. One of the major highlights on the red carpet was the team behind the upcoming summer film Dongji Island. Director Guan Hu, chief producer Liang Jing, and leading actors Zhu Yilong, Wu Lei, Ni Ni, and Li Jiuxiao appeared at the event to promote the movie.
Speaking about the film’s key themes, director Guan Hu explained that Dongji Island aims to portray the kindness and courage of the Chinese people. “Chinese people are not only kind but also brave. That’s what this film wants to show,” said Guan Hu, as quoted by Sohu.
Lead actor Zhu Yilong added that the movie features many authentic restorations and a significant number of underwater scenes. “In addition to many authentically recreated details, there are also a lot of underwater shots, which will definitely be very exciting,” he said.
Ni Ni highlighted the bravery of the fishermen depicted in the story and praised the efforts of the cast in preparing for their roles. “We all went through physical training to present a healthy, masculine image. The fishermen’s courage is truly inspiring, and that’s also a major highlight of the film,” she shared.
Rising star Wu Lei expressed his admiration after viewing some of the footage. “I’ve seen a few clips. The visual effects are amazing. It’s truly a large-scale industrial blockbuster, and I hope everyone will go to the theaters on August 8 to support it,” he said enthusiastically.
Dongji Island is scheduled for theatrical release across China on August 8 and is expected to be one of the summer’s biggest blockbusters.
