LayarHijau – The couple pairing (CP) controversy has shaken the Chinese entertainment industry again after Song Yi changed her Weibo cover photo, sparking intense debates among fans of three popular actors.

The new cover shows an illustration of two small teddy bears eating together, framed by a large heart symbol. This simple change immediately triggered speculation about her relationship with Bai Jingting, who was previously rumored to have broken up after starring together in the drama Destined (长风渡).

Fans of the Song Yi–Bai Jingting pairing, known as ‘Jing Hong Yi Pie,’ interpreted the teddy bears as a visual code reaffirming their relationship. Meanwhile, Bai Jingting’s solo fans accused Song Yi of deliberately seeking attention, igniting anger and heated comments on social media.

At the same time, fans of Song Yi and Cheng Lei, called ‘Cheng Xin Ru Yi,’ claim that the teddy bear code actually refers to their shared drama Shadow Love (与晋长安). The bear names, ‘Yi Er’ and ‘Bu Bu,’ are specific references from the drama’s promotion. Their sweet interactions during the promo led CP fans to believe that Song Yi and Cheng Lei’s connection still exists today.

The controversy grew more complex as Cheng Lei is currently starring in a new drama, How Dare You! (Cheng He Ti Tong), alongside Wang Churan. Both actors are also a hot CP topic in the drama’s promotions. Many netizens accuse Song Yi of posting confusing CP codes, potentially disrupting the promotion of other actors. Similar accusations arose when Bai Jingting starred in The First Frost (难哄), where Song Yi was said to post images drawing public attention away.

The seemingly innocent Weibo cover quickly topped trending searches. Netizens are left asking: after her success in Destined, who is Song Yi currently hinting at or signaling a CP with?
