LayarHijau – Top Chinese actress, Dilraba Dilmurat, continues to prove her position as a fashion and entertainment icon, not only through her latest drama projects but also through bold visual style exploration. Dilraba recently stunned social media after appearing as a magazine cover model, showcasing a significant hair transformation. Usually known for her graceful, long, straight hair, she surprised fans with a super short haircut.

This cheerful and adorable appearance garnered widespread praise. Dilraba’s facial flexibility, deemed highly proportional, proves her ability to master a wide spectrum of styles, from the eternally elegant persona to a more modern and casual look. This visual flexibility aligns with the character she plays in her latest romantic fantasy drama, Love Beyond the Grave.

The drama, adapted from the popular novel Bai Ri Ti Deng (白日提燈), stars Dilraba as He Simu, a 400-year-old immortal spirit leader. She is paired with talented actor Chen Feiyu, who plays Duan Xu, a young general from the human world. Their story centers on a mystical destiny bond where the two are forced to share their five senses, bridging the gap between the spirit world (Guixu) and the human world.

Before gaining international recognition as Love Beyond the Grave, the series experienced a title identity crisis. During production, the drama used the temporary title Mu Xu Ci.

However, the name change immediately drew criticism from fans and potential viewers. The character ‘Xu’ was considered difficult to pronounce, and the title was deemed less familiar than the original novel’s title. Etymologically, Mu Xu Ci indeed carries a personal romantic meaning, symbolizing ‘The Story of Mu and Xu,’ referring to He Simu and Duan Xu.

Nevertheless, the production team ultimately took a smart strategic step: reverting to the original novel title, Bai Ri Ti Deng (白日提燈). This title, which literally means ‘Carrying a Lantern in Broad Daylight,’ is philosophically and narratively much stronger. It emphasizes He Simu’s identity as a creature of the underworld (spirit) who must use a ‘lantern’ to exist in the ‘daylight’ (the human world).

This decision proved to have a fantastic impact on promotion and public anticipation. Just one day after the title change announcement, discussion topic views about the drama on social media soared to 1.57 billion.

This success continued. Within 48 hours, the number of related topic views had exceeded 2.7 billion, making it one of the most anticipated Chinese dramas this year. This anticipation is reinforced by the presence of Dilraba and other cast members at variety shows to promote the series, ahead of the anticipated premiere.

Globally, Love Beyond the Grave is scheduled to air via the streaming platforms WeTV Indonesia and Tencent Video. The drama is predicted to be one of the most important fantasy watch events leading up to its highly anticipated full global release, estimated to occur in 2026.
