LayarHijau – Actor Lin Yi is once again making headlines after rumors surfaced that he may star in a new fantasy drama titled A Chan (阿禪). The project is reportedly helmed by the director of Love’s Ambition (许我耀眼) and would reunite him with Xing Fei, his co-star from Put Your Head on My Shoulder (致我们暖暖的小时光). However, as of now, none of the information surrounding the drama—including the involvement of Lin Yi, Xing Fei, or the rumored director—has been officially confirmed, leaving it as pure speculation among fans.
Lin Yi recently caught the public’s eye for his role as Liu Yifei’s younger lover in The Tale of Rose (玫瑰的故事). However, his following two projects—Smile Code (失笑) alongside Shen Yue and Ski Into Love (嘘，国王在冬眠) with Esther Yu—failed to replicate that same level of success. Because of this, many fans view Lin Yi’s rumored involvement in A Chan as a potential turning point in his career.
The 1999-born actor has just wrapped filming for the romantic drama When I Meet the Moon (折月亮), co-starring Lu Yuxiao. The series is adapted from the novel by Zhu Yi, who also wrote Hidden Love (偷偷藏不住) and The First Frost (难哄). These three titles are often referred to as Zhu Yi’s “Campus Love Trilogy,” leading to high anticipation for When I Meet the Moon even before its release.
Meanwhile, Xing Fei has been regaining momentum with her praised performance in This Thriving Land (生万物). If the rumor turns out to be true, A Chan would mark her reunion with Lin Yi after six years since Put Your Head on My Shoulder. Many viewers believe their natural chemistry could once again attract a wide audience.
According to circulating synopses, A Chan follows Li Weiyi (played by Xing Fei), a woman who loses both her job and her boyfriend, and Zhang Jingchan (played by Lin Yi), a man burdened by heavy debts. The two mysteriously travel eight years back in time and swap bodies, attempting to change their family destinies within a time loop filled with tragedy and mystery.
Interestingly, Lin Yi’s recent projects share indirect ties with Zhao Lusi — When I Meet the Moon is regarded as the “sister series” to Hidden Love, while A Chan is linked to the director of Love’s Ambition, the hit that reignited Zhao Lusi’s popularity. Fans online jokingly comment, “When will Lin Yi and Zhao Lusi finally act together? That would definitely blow up again!”
