LayarHijau – The highly anticipated animated film Zootopia 2 has taken China by storm. In just six days of release, the movie grossed a cumulative total of 1.984 billion CNY — roughly US$ 280 million — making it the third‑highest grossing animated film in Chinese box office history.

This milestone pushes Zootopia 2 past the domestic hit Boonie Bears: Time Twist and leaves it trailing only behind two top Chinese animated blockbusters: Ne Zha 2 and Ne Zha: I Am the Destiny. Already, Zootopia 2’s audience count has surpassed 50 million viewers.

According to data from Lighthouse Professional, the film’s box office had already exceeded 1.92 billion CNY (≈ US$ 271 million) — exceeding the first film’s 1.54 billion CNY — and continues to shatter records. To date, Zootopia 2 has broken 55 records, including “Highest-Grossing Imported Animated Film in China” and “Imported Film with Highest Single-Day Revenue.” On 29 November alone, it reportedly earned 730 million CNY in one day — about US$ 103 million — surpassing the one‑day record held by Avengers: Endgame in China.

Audience enthusiasm remains off the charts. The number of users who marked “Want to Watch” for Zootopia 2 surged beyond 2.31 million, far outpacing the 1.32 million for Ne Zha 2. On 29 November, daily screening slots reached 346,000, topping Ne Zha 2’s previous high of 255,000.

According to projections from box office tracker Maoyan, Zootopia 2 could reach a total gross of 4.263 billion CNY — nearly US$ 602 million — potentially becoming the highest‑grossing imported film of all time in China, and the second biggest domestic release of the year after Ne Zha 2.
