LayarHijau – Renowned Chinese actor Yu Menglong tragically fell from a building in September at the age of 37. Chinese authorities have classified the case as an “accidental fall after drinking alcohol,” yet lingering doubts have caused ongoing public speculation about the true cause of his death. As rumors continue to circulate, reports have emerged that Yu Menglong’s former manager allegedly fled to Taiwan and was seen in Ximending, Taipei. Taiwan’s Immigration Agency has responded to these claims.
Yu Menglong rose to prominence through his role as the third brother in the drama Eternal Love (三生三世十里桃花), gaining recognition in the entertainment industry. His sudden death in September shocked the public. While police have ruled out criminal activity, conspiracy theories continue to spread online. Some rumors suggest that his manager, Du Qiang, may have subjected him to abuse or mistreatment. Netizens have also noted that three other artists previously managed by Du Qiang reportedly died under mysterious circumstances, including Qiao Renliang, who passed away in 2016 due to depression, and martial arts actor Qiu Feng, who died in a car accident on a Zhejiang highway in 2024.
The controversy escalated further after a mainland Chinese netizen reported that Du Qiang, now reportedly using the alias Du Yicheng, fled to Taiwan and stayed at a hotel in Ximending, Taipei. Following the report, discussions quickly surged online, with numerous netizens leaving negative reviews on the hotel’s Google page.
In response, the hotel clarified that Du Qiang never stayed at their property and requested that netizens remove the comments to avoid disrupting hotel operations. Additionally, Taiwan’s Immigration Agency stated on October 21 that they have not received any information regarding the individual entering or engaging in activities in Taiwan. The authenticity of the online rumors remains under investigation, and any violations of immigration laws will be addressed according to official regulations.
