As a rare treat, Chow personally invited 11 lucky fans to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the lavish filming set, leaving many netizens envious.

Kungfu Meets Football 

Shaolin Women’s Soccer combines traditional Shaolin kungfu with the high-energy world of soccer. The story follows the journey of China’s all-female “Emei Team” as they fight to win the Asian Champions Cup. The production lasted three months, with lead actress Dilraba Dilmurat reportedly finishing her scenes on June 2. Co-stars Zhang Xiaofei and Lay Zhang (Zhang Yixing) had completed their parts earlier. 

A Rare Fan Experience 

In a gesture rarely seen in the industry, Stephen Chow guided a private on-set tour for a group of devoted fans. The set, said to have cost millions, featured a full-scale football field made with synthetic turf and white boundary lines, surrounded by green screens for post-production effects. 

During the visit, Chow interacted warmly with fans, explaining the production process and sharing his vision for the film. According World Journal, he also took photos, signed shirts, and made fans feel like part of the movie family. His approachable and down-to-earth personality won even more admiration.

The visit offered a sneak peek at some of the production details. Behind-the-scenes clips revealed the impressive scope of the set, including extensive green screen setups, giving fans a glimpse of how Chow blends practical effects with visual magic. 

After the tour, Chow posted a heartfelt message on social media: 

 “Ordinary people, extraordinary dreams! From viewers to witnesses, from nobodies to somebodies on set! Real testimony, real interaction—everything aligned perfectly!” 

Post-Production Begins 

Industry insiders have confirmed that filming is now complete, with the project moving into post-production. The fan tour was reportedly held as a celebratory event to mark the end of shooting. Many netizens believe Shaolin Women’s Soccer is being lined up for a Spring Festival 2026 release, though this has yet to be officially confirmed. 

With its unique blend of martial arts, comedy, and sports—alongside a star-studded cast—Shaolin Women’s Soccer is already generating major buzz, even before hitting theaters.
