LayarHijau – A shocking rumor is sweeping Chinese social media: martial arts legend Jet Li (Li Lianjie) is allegedly being replaced by a “clone” or an extremely convincing body double. The theory went viral after recent public appearances showed Jet Li exhibiting expressions and behaviors that seemed different from the figure fans know.

The 62-year-old star was seen a few months ago in a weakened state, even requiring an oxygen tube. However, in several recent appearances, Jet Li appeared energetic, moved nimbly, and looked noticeably younger, sparking wild speculation—including rumors that he underwent a heart transplant from a Shaolin monk nicknamed Qiu Feng, dubbed the most handsome monk.

Chinese entertainment critic Song Zude (宋祖德) added fuel to the rumor. In a Weibo post, he wrote: “Is this the real Jet Li, or a clone? His expressions and voice are not like before.” He also called for authorities to investigate the possibility of a public double being used to mislead fans.

In response, Jet Li posted a swimming video showing his bare chest, demonstrating no major surgical scars and subtly dismissing the transplant rumors: “Living in this era requires your own analysis. Always following others’ opinions is troublesome. Believing in things that don’t exist just makes life complicated.”

Despite this, some netizens remain skeptical, scrutinizing the video for subtle differences in skin or marks, keeping the body double speculation alive.

This conspiracy theory phenomenon isn’t limited to Jet Li. In 2025, a few other Chinese celebrities have also been linked to similar rumors:

Chen Duling (陈都灵)

Netizens noted that her appearance in live streams looked different from previous footage. Facial features, ears, and jawline seemed inconsistent, sparking speculation that a public double or “pseudo-person” might be appearing in her place.

Guo Junchen (郭俊辰)

Rumors suggest that the figure seen at airports or in live streaming videos is not the real Guo Junchen, but a replacement. This theory is also linked to the death of Yu Menglong, which fueled speculation about a celebrity “sacrificial ritual.” The double is allegedly used to maintain the public image and prevent panic among fans.

These cases demonstrate how Chinese netizens have become increasingly vigilant and creative in interpreting changes in public figures’ appearances, with some theories extending to extreme claims about cloning and doubles. Although there is no official confirmation, these rumors remain viral on social media and continue to spark heated debate on Weibo entertainment forums.
